Jambo!
Everything we have experienced in our first few days in Kenya has been full of vibrancy and culture, but nothing yet has been so inspiring as our sabbath with the Katheri high school girls.
As soon as we stepped off the bus, the sounds of rhythmic music and joyous voices filled the air. Likewise, the dining hall, where the Sunday service is held, was filled with hundreds of clapping, dancing girls singing at the very top of their lungs to the Lord.
Just as all the people of Kenya, these girls were some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. They were also very curious about our hair and skin! Their joy and love for the Lord were evident to every single one of the team members. I don’t think any of us will ever forget our inspiring time with the Katheri girls; many memories and sweet friends were made.
The people of Kenya could not be more gracious and welcoming to our team; the Katheri Girls High School was only one part of our time in Kenya, which has been, so far, one of the most amazing experiences of my life!
