Day 5 – The Celebrations Continue

Today brought more construction work, followed by three house dedications. Although the homes are in various stages of completion, we are dedicating them while we are here, even though some will not be fully finished until after we leave.

Word has spread throughout the area, and the celebrations are growing! Charlotte and Katelynn dedicated the Kathure family's home on behalf of the Brodowicz family. I cannot say this enough—we are surrounded by incredible joy and gratitude. The families continuously ask God to bless us in return and tell us how deeply loved we are. They say they will thank us every day until we leave, and then continue thanking God for this blessing forever. The generosity of these sponsor families is radically changing entire communities as people witness God performing miracles in their lives.

Family Verse:

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. ---- Matthew 5:14-16

Next, Cyndy dedicated the home of the Kajuju family on behalf of St. Timothy's. Once again, speeches were given, and songs of praise filled the air. Cyndy even had the opportunity to play some drums! This widow had been living in a small hut, but God has blessed her with a home of her own.

Family Verse:

You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. --- Deuteronomy 28:6

Finally, we traveled to dedicate the home of the Kinanu family on behalf of the Galloway family. This family is exactly why the Kizazi Project was envisioned. A grandmother has been raising her grandchildren after their mother abandoned them. Overwhelmed by the weight of her circumstances, she had lost hope and contemplated ending both her life and the lives of the children. But God intervened, and she found herself in church. Since then, the community has rallied around her, and she now spends her time serving at the church.

This house is truly an answer to prayer. Through God's provision and the love of His people, this family now has hope for the future.

Family Verse:

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. --- Proverbs 24:3-4

Every dedication reminds us that these homes are about so much more than walls and roofs. They are tangible expressions of God's love and faithfulness. We are humbled to witness Him at work and grateful to play a small part in the stories He is writing here in Kenya.

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us." — Ephesians 3:20
